Vallejo, CA [June 12 – 15, 2025] — The Vallejo Sister City Association (VSCA) proudly took part in the 76th Annual Solano County Fair, held June 12–15, 2025. This landmark event hosted a vibrant Cultural Pavilion where the VSCA brought global traditions to life through exhibits from Vallejo’s international sister cities.
As a longstanding celebration of community pride and cultural diversity, the Solano County Fair provided the perfect platform for the VSCA to showcase the unique cultures and traditions that enrich Vallejo through its sister city relationships. This year’s milestone fair offered a timely reminder of the power of global friendship and mutual understanding.
A World of Culture in One Pavilion
The VSCA’s exhibit featured beautifully curated displays representing La Spezia, ITALY, Trondheim, NORWAY; Ensenada, MEXICO; Bagamoyo, TANZANIA; Akashi, JAPAN; Baguio City, PHILIPPINES; and Jincheon, SOUTH KOREA. Each exhibit immersed visitors in the art, heritage, and daily life of these global partners.
Attendees explored traditional garments, handmade crafts, cultural artifacts, and storytelling panels that shared the histories behind each sister city. Live performances of music and dance drew crowds throughout the weekend, offering an unforgettable, interactive cultural journey.
Engaging Our Community Through Education
VSCA board members and volunteers welcomed guests with hospitality and knowledge, sharing personal stories and insights that deepened appreciation for each international relationship. Visitors of all ages engaged in meaningful dialogue and learned more about the value of sister city programs.
Educational materials, including brochures and flyers generously sponsored by community partners, helped expand awareness of the VSCA’s mission and highlighted ways to get involved.
Looking Ahead
The 76th Annual Solano County Fair marked not only a celebration of the past but a bold step toward the future. The VSCA announced upcoming initiatives, including its community gathering at Vallejo’s Juneteenth Celebration on June 21, 2025 and the return of the Annual International Dinner & Auction on September 27, 2025—signature events that continue to strengthen cultural ties and community engagement.
The VSCA extends heartfelt thanks to everyone who visited the exhibits, joined the conversations, and supported our vision. Your participation fuels our mission and inspires our work.
