VALLEJO, Calif. [February 28, 2026] — Elegance, community spirit, and a shared commitment to global understanding defined the Vallejo Sister City Association’s (VSCA) 5th Annual Black & White Gala, held February 28, 2026, at the beautiful Vallejo Yacht Club.
After a one-year hiatus — the last gala having been held in 2023 and the 2024 event intentionally skipped to accommodate international delegation travel — the return of the signature fundraiser was met with strong enthusiasm. Though designed as an exclusive affair, the evening was notably well attended, drawing supporters, community leaders, and longtime VSCA champions.
The 2026 gala was chaired by former VSCA President William Kim and co-chaired by Yolanda Kim, whose leadership helped shape an evening that balanced sophistication with heartfelt purpose.
“As the event chair of the Vallejo Sister City Association’s 5th Annual 2026 Black & White Gala, I am proud to say it was a wonderful success,” Kim shared. “Hosted at the beautiful Vallejo Yacht Club, the evening was filled with exceptional cuisine, delightful entertainment, and, most importantly, the warmth of community coming together in support of a meaningful cause.”
Guests arrived dressed in classic black-and-white formalwear, setting the tone for an evening that celebrated both style and service. Throughout the night, attendees enjoyed curated dining, engaging entertainment, and opportunities to deepen their connection to VSCA’s international mission.
Kim emphasized that the true highlight of the evening was the community’s generosity.
“I am deeply grateful to all who attended, contributed, and generously supported our mission to promote peace and cultural awareness for the youth of our city,” he said. “Your presence and partnership truly make this work possible.”
Proceeds from the gala support the Vallejo Sister City Association’s ongoing programs, including youth cultural exchanges and international relationship-building initiatives. The organization’s work is guided by its enduring mission: to promote peace through mutual respect, understanding, and cooperation — one individual, one community at a time.
With the successful return of the Black & White Gala, VSCA leaders say the organization is energized for the year ahead, continuing to build bridges between Vallejo and its sister cities around the world while investing in the next generation of global citizens.
