Elissa Shanks Stewart Named One of Vallejo’s 2026 Living Legends

During this year’s NAACP Black History Month meeting, Vallejo will honor Elissa Shanks Stewart as one of the city’s 2026 Living Legends, recognizing her lifelong commitment to service, cultural understanding, and community leadership.

A longtime champion of citizen diplomacy, Stewart has played a pivotal role in strengthening Vallejo’s global relationships through her leadership with the Vallejo Sister City Association.
