July 4, 2024 Vallejo, CA – The spirit of unity and celebration was alive and well in Vallejo, where the “Deep Roots and High Hopes” parade brought together a vibrant display of community pride and international friendship. We at the Vallejo Sister City Association and Vallejo Sister City Commission are profoundly grateful for the opportunity to participate in the 169th Annual Fourth of July Parade.
The parade was a testament to Vallejo’s commitment to fostering personal connections and cultural exchange. Starting from the intersection of Tennessee and Broadway, the parade wound its way through the city, filling the streets with an entourage of floats, horses, cars, performers, and puppets. The journey west towards Sonoma Boulevard, south on Sonoma, and west on Georgia Street through Downtown Vallejo showcased not only the city’s picturesque routes but also its vibrant community spirit.
Since our inception, Vallejo Sister City Association has been dedicated to creating global relationships based on cultural, educational, informational, and trade exchanges. These efforts have resulted in lifelong friendships and a deep sense of global community, promoting prosperity and peace through person-to-person “citizen diplomacy.”
Today, our mission continues to thrive as we expand our reach and strengthen existing relationships. Our members engage in exchanges in arts and culture, business and trade, youth and education, and community development. These connections not only foster friendship but also empower communities to address some of the world’s most pressing issues at the local level.
Thank you, Vallejo, for your unwavering support and for demonstrating the true spirit of unity and friendship. Together, we will continue to build bridges of understanding and cooperation, one individual, one community at a time.
